Facilitator: Joshua Neds-Fox (Library Publishing Coalition - USA)
Target audience - academics who teach in library and information science and cognate disciplines.
Description of the workshop - the purpose of the workshop is to develop curricula for teaching of library publishing. The facilitators are colleagues from the LPC who have already developed curriculum for North American universities and have been rolling out such programmes. A significant contributor to the lack of skills in this area is the absence of library publishing in the higher education curriculum.
Expected outcomes – an improved understanding of the processes associated with publishing using open source software. This improved understanding will help delegates develop curricula for adoption and adaptation depending on institutional/country requirements. This enrichment of the curriculum will grow the library publishing service.
