If you have a smartphone, you can install the Uber app (iOS App or Android App) and use the popular Uber taxi system. Once the app is installed on your phone and you have created an account and linked it to you credit card (no cash involved), you can sign in on your phone as soon as you land and request a taxi. The taxi will then take you to your destination and a trip from Cape Town International Airport to Rondebosch shouldn’t cost you more than R200.
The MyCiti bus is the cheapest option for getting into the city and the fastest if it is peak traffic. This shuttle service runs between the airport and Cape Town city centre. However, alternative transport would then be required if not staying in the city centre.
Tickets are on sale at the ticket kiosks in both the Civic Centre CBD and airport bus stations and cost under R100 for the airport route.
