If you have a smartphone, you can install the Uber app (iOS App or Android App) and use the popular Uber taxi system. Once the app is installed on your phone and you have created an account and linked it to you credit card (no cash involved), you can sign in on your phone as soon as you land and request a taxi. The taxi will then take you to your destination and a trip from Cape Town International Airport to Rondebosch shouldn’t cost you more than R200.
The MyCiti bus is the cheapest option for getting into the city and the fastest if it is peak traffic. This shuttle service runs between the airport and Cape Town city centre. However, alternative transport would then be required if not staying in the city centre.

Car Rental facilities
There are a number of car rental agencies operating at Cape Town International Airport.
The car rental facilities are situated in front of the Public Transport Plaza and Central Terminal Building. Access to the facility is gained from two pedestrian subways that are placed on either side of the terminal building.
Metered Taxis
This option will take you directly to your destination, but could cost anywhere between R200-R400.
Taxis are hired at taxi ranks, hotels or summoned by telephone. Taxi rates vary between companies but runs at about R10/km. It is advisable to ask for a fare estimate before you agree. Recommended companies include: Elite Taxi: 021 447 9003 / Excite Taxi: 021 448 4444 / Unicab: 021 486 1600 / Citi Hopper: 021 936 3460/1. Taxis and car guards tipped at your own discretion.
